Our Process
Research Based Design
Our team takes pride in completing this product through a research based design methodology. By this, we mean that each step required us to go and obtain research regarding the problem space, user requirements, and usability in order to continue on to the next step.

We started out our research reviewing secondary resources over climate change and how it relates to greenhouse gases. From there, we found that landfills produce greenhouse gases and we could reduce the amount that ends up in a landfill by recycling. From here, we interviewed people in the Indianapolis area to get an idea of what they though of climate change and recycling.

Through all of this research we found that climate change IS a problem, people are not motivated or educated in regards to recycling, and they are not particularly interested in starting to recycle.

This inspired us to well, inspire, the younger generation and hope to instill positive environmental conscious habits onto them.

It was then that Teach Green was born.
About Teach Green
Teach Green is an application designed for students ages 9-12. The application allows students to learn about recycling in a motivational and educational way. With a game-like setting, students can recycle items for points and help clean up their state through different recycling challenges. Completing these challenges can earn them coins and keys that they later use to redeem for prizes. Also, students can review videos and informational articles educating them on the importance of protecting the environment.
